The Prison Project

You are here

The Prison Project is offered to Lehigh students as a volunteer opportunity.

Selected Lehigh students will weekly report to the Northampton County Jail to tutor low security inmates to help them prepare for high school graduation or equivalency exams (GED). Tutoring focuses on developing reading, writing, social studies, science and math skills.

A security clearance is required to participate in this project.

Currently, the Prison Project is running the Fall and Spring Semesters, and Volunteers, based on their academic schedule, participate one day per week (Monday - Thursday) and must be available on that one day between 12:30pm and 3:00pm including travel time.

If interested in the next round of scheduling/semester, please complete this interest form HERE.
